Doesn't the Silent Hunter III theme song sound kind of like the das boot theme song, whenever I watch that movie i have to play SH3. What do you think the best sub movie is?

Das Boot...unrivalled excellence I call it.

I'd like to see a new film about British subs in the Med (thinking of the exploits of Lt\Cdr Wanklyn in the U-class sub Upholder) made with the gritty realism of Saving Private Ryan but without the silly sentimentality.

That would be cool...

...but alas I think the audience for such a film would be limited so would never get made.

I find "The Cruel Sea" to be also interesting from the escorts point of view of the Atlantic War.
