Default How Accurate are the SH4 map renderings?

skipping over the obvious, mistakes of port locations and such is to be expected, but how accurate are the land configurations that are represented in the game.

when i see maps showing pacific sea battles the shape and location of islands looks much different then in the game.

Yes be ware to sail near those "shallow" zones, they appears as shallow zones, but you can crash against a mountain...

well i was adding a mission to represent a real engagement but to complete the mission i just guessed at it because islands were in different places, shaped differently and such.

i'm not expecting it to be that exact but in some cases i find an island that is not shown in documents about the battle but in mission editor it is there and it is "in the way" and i dont know which side of the island to place the confrontation.
