Default GWX Generic contacts mod uninstalling?

Hello all. I browsed the forums and checked the GW readme for like ten times but still can't find any info about this. How do I uninstall the generic contacts mod that I 'accidentally' installed with GW?

Because in my ship recognition manual all the ship named in the upper left corner are just named 'contact' and not the actual ship which I don't like. And I think it's because of the generic contacts mod. Is it possible to uninstall just that mod only without breaking something else?

It sounds as if you are using the old/original TGW mod... whoch has been completely overhauled and replaced by GWX.

The old version is no longer suported. (Besides... I think you'll be much happier with GWX.)

Just visit the GWX sticky thread here for download links.

I downloaded this around a year ago or so. It is something called TGW1.1a.

Would love to download the update but my interweb doesn't wub me anymore and 1.5kb/s isn't exactly tempting.

Try running the installer again and "un-check" the option if it is available on the installer options. (If memory serves... Its been a long time since I dealt with that file set.)

Whereabouts are you CollateralDamage ? I'm sure someone won't be too far from you and be able to burn the files onto a disc and send it to you
I'm from Northern England if that's of any use :hmm:

Don't live in the UK but thanks for the offer. :]

Just read the GWX manualthingymajiggy and I'm drooling over all the pretty ship pictures, ingame models and the lovely historic facts SO:

Sorry for going a bit off the topic here but...
TGW1.1A = Very old old Grey Wolf yeh?
GWX = New and improved Grey Wolf?

And I'd have to go here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=102096 and download the GWX exe, the 5 different bin-files and then install them over a clean SH3 and after that downoad the GWX 1.03 update and run it to update GWX to 1.03?

meh...
/me goes back peeling Po-Ta-Toes für Herr Kaleun.

I think I'm just going to download the GWX no matter how long it takes. Just let it download them in the background while playing Rome: Total War or watching a nice looooong movie.

Also a bit about that download page. The ones hosted by Danlisa are named GWX-#.bin. And the other ones lower are named GWX+#bin. Any difference? (# = the number of the .bin file)

I like Danlisa's hosting though. It comes @ 200KB/sec top what I've checked but average around 40ish. From the other ones...meh :'(
