Default China executes former drug and food safety boss

So they finially did it. So why aren't all the Europeans jumping up and down about this?

I'm thinking that cleaning this up is key to the Bejing Olympics. Is it not?

They already have the Beijing Olympics. This is trying to regain confidence with the Euros and Americans commie style.

The funny thing is, it sort of actually restores my confidence in the fact that they will clean it up in the future! Harsh measures seem to relay that change and restoration of confidence is on the way! :hmm:

I know China already has the olympics PD. This is how they are cleaning the problem.

As far as where the outrage that Subman was refering to: that is very selective.

Just more incentive to get things right!

Of course, we all support this behavior by buying their products.

I don't think it helped the Soviet Union's production quality.

I'd have to disagree. I've analyzed Soviet Bloc spacecraft and found things such as their wiring and harnesses - basically everything is built solid. They had excellent quality.

Even their military's mass production years, they managed to produce strong hardware on a mass production scale. The only reason they could not keep up with the West is that the commercial sector wasn't innovating on it's own (the lack of a capatilistic society is missing the driving factor of money), so everything must be designed from government projects.

I tell you though, what the Soviets did build was of good quality and worked well.

I'm not that thrilled by it. I don't trust China one bit, in anything. Taking these few people down isn't dealing with anything. Everyone knows that the entire Chinese system (any one of 'em) is woefully corrupt. To me this is so far lighting the staw man on fire in the village square. We'll see if they actually follow this up. Remember this is a 'communist' regime. They don't mind sacrificing a few individuals for a greater purpose.

So yea... I'm cynical.:p

I should say most then. I don't need to mention our Challenger accidents or anything.

The US always had the tech advantage though. This was due to it's commercial side. Money seems to have a weird way of driving people to develop bigger and better things without any other motivation. Weird how the world seems to clammor on to Socialism then.

A better example is really all the subs and reactors that crapped out on them...

I guess all the poor publicity for killing pets with their tainted pet food and poisoning people with their toothpaste calls for a classic Communist-style execution.
