Default About the water splash

Don't know if my question deserves the creation of a new thread :hmm: ... But does the height of the water splash created by the explosion after torpedo impact is moddable or not ?

I have just seen this picture, and find it quite real :

It would be nice to increase it a bit in game, maybe... That's why I'm wondering if it's possible to do it or not.

After making some test, i noticed that the splash height varies deppending on the power of the torp explotion.

Yes, I know, but I've not noticed a splash as high as the one that you can see on the photo at the top of the page. :p

Well close but not quite as tall

IIRC with DC's theres a setting for how far below the water line the "effect"
will be regardless of DC depth. I dont believe there is an identical setting
in torpedos, but Not only Impulse and effect radius but also torpedo depth
may effect the hieght of the "effect" from the torpedo.

if you play with it a bit I think you will find effect radius will turn out to
be a visual effect setting. whereas Impulse will effect force and depth of
damage plus assumably effect size, that said though.

different settings will get different results.
with big impulse you get big hits with force thats easy to see.

but with big effect radius you get a different effect.

you see how in the first example the ship is intact but the force is incredible
where as in the second pic the force is much lower set but the visual effect
is torqued up.

The damage in the second hit appears worse and over a wider area of
the ship (I admit the first pic destroyer did breakup while re entering
the atmosphere but its not the same thats those secondary explosions
from boilers and munitions.)

as well the 2nd shows the spectacular visual blast effect. I havent managed to figure out what everything does and effects as some things seem to cross over and torpedo research beyond the development of the four I use for uber (much more like the second than the first pic.)

hope this helps a bit.
M

[edit] high speed torps can roll a ship over and capsize it I think.

I like the idea of toss the destroyer. The second pic had me on the floor laughing my guts out. It is now my desktop.
