well meters and yards are almost the same. at least its not much difference is it 10000m away or 9900 yards.

The new radar shown should be the SD, right? The PPI was for an SJ model, right?

Yes, that is the new SD scope. PPI support for the SD radar only came with the late-war improved (SV) radar.

Actually, that's the SJ - Surface search radar. The SJ first appeared with an A-scope type display and later - through the SJ-a/SJ-1 version, gained the PPI type screen.

The SD - aircraft search radar - also had an A-scope, and was non-directional. We don't model that one as mannable station.

Ah, okay. In the case of the SD radar, how do we know, then, when an aircraft contact has been picked up by the device?
