You're not the only one chanting for Reagan, every GOP candidate is trying to impersonate him.

Personally, I'd like to see Mike Gravel get it

Its really early since they all seem to be playing to their base, to get the nomination, but ultimately I will vote for the candidate who will do the least harm to the country. Is that vague enough?

As of now you have to wonder who you would be voting for Hil or Bill. I suspect that isn't an issue for some.

Too left for me. But I bet he would do very well in Europe. His approach is similar to Mrs. Clinton but one has to look very hard to find hers.

Thompson is the only Canidate I would vote for so far. I don't care much for the other choices as offered.

I think the lame showing for the Repubs is a handicap at this point. However, things are not even in the normal time frames yet. Demos got the ball rolling this time around. Usually the beginning of next year is when you start to see the action heat up.

Thompson hasn't really impressed me, now that you mention him. I think he's getting a lot of anticipatory coverage because he's been relatively silent so far.
Once (if?) his campaign gets going, then we'll see.

Oh joy

Oh yeah, as regards Gravel. He won't get it, unfortunately. I'd most likely vote for Obama. Hillary has the machine, as it were, but I don't think she'd be a great President. McCain hasn't a clue anymore, and Romney is fresh out of positions to take.

Thompson has only been in the ring for less than a month, so he is the newbie! Just wait and see. You can't attack him on anything, so I bet he is going to be a force to be reckoned with. I think he is currently the right man for the job.

None of this really matters till next year when everyone has picked who is the final runners though - the race is still at the beginning. Thompson however is the man! He can't be linked to any of the hot topics because he has been out of Congress since they all happened, so how do you attack him? Everything he is remebered for would be Bill Clinton Era. I bet Hillary is shaking in her boots at this guy. He is a Rebup that can take her on and win.

I guess all of the United States is fortunate that you aren't a citizen and cannot vote.

BTW my posts equal the year (2007). Thanks for the memories.

Not being able to attack doesn't make him the right man for the job
I mean, no major attacks could win him the Presidency, but that doesn't say anything about the kind of President he'd be. I half agree, it's too early to see if he's in any way suitable....(although personally, that AEI spot on climate change turned me right off - he wants to be President?)

waste, do ya really want me to turn that question round on you? :p

You can't! So drop it! :p

The part about attacking him has nothing to do with how he would handle the pres position. The point I was making - every candidate in this race is holding baggage. Thompson is the only guy who is not holding a thing. That is a strong position to enter with. Trust me when I say, you haven't seen the last of him yet.
