out of torpedoes

Whew, this was one tough patrol, and it gets worse. Doonmt know how i managed to escape all the destroyers but I did, sinking 12 merchants, and 9 warships. well, after expending all my torpedoes, and i get my mission complete status, i radio up my latest sitrep, over 65,000 tons sunk, what does SUBCOMPAC do? they send me to Hiroshima Harbor to do a photo recon!!!!!!! Now, who in their right mind would send an unarmed sub into harms way like that? Well, I decide to go anyway, and enroute i meet up with this task force. I was going to avoid contact with it but i wanted to see what was in it. hmmm, an escort carrier and a tanker and some cruisers. It is nighjt time. Well, i do have 60 rounds of HE left for my deck gun, I might not be able to sink it but i might be able to damage it, so i say what the heck, surface and engage the escort carrier with my deck gun. sunk it after 15 rounds. oh crap, here comes a destroyer. take me down to 30 meters, shut off engines and go to silent running. 3 cigarettes later, the destroyer gives up and leaves, so i continue on to the harbor. inside the entrance to the harbor, i run into an unescorted merchant ship. well this is too good to give up, so i engage it using the last of my deck gun rounds. wow, wouldnt you know, my very last round sinks it. im beginning to think that i shouold have resupplied before i went into photo recon mission, because in the harbor were three stationary merchants. hmmm maybei will resupply and then go back and sink them.

Sending a sitrep generally results in getting an auxilliary recon mission. Your best bet in future is just to STFU and hightail it back to Port

Strange.

Typically you will not recieve addittional tasking if your out of munitions. Maybe the photo recon is and exception due to the fact you dont have to have munitions to pull it off.
