Has anyone else noticed that Ensigns almost always cost 0 renown? Is this a bug, or did they do that on purpose for some reason?

Don't think this would be a bug. Even if everyone in the Navy hated your guts and you had no 'pull' you'd still get sailors for your boat.

Funny fact is that there are also some high ranked sailors that 'cost' 0 valor.

Ensigns are like Specialist in the Army . . . so many of them . . . so little experience as compared to seasoned crewmembers.
For example: ![]() and ![]() Ensign or 2LT . . . they are still butter bars . . . they have just as much operational experiance as a PO3 or a SPC. They have great potential, just as any crewmember has, but as the latter script states. Reminds me of a store of what happened to a 2LT who pulled rank on a CSM. The CSM had to obey, but the 2LT had to answer to the COL afterwords. That musn't have been pretty.
