Unfortunately the outside free cam view was disabled/removed with patch 1.2 afaik. So you'd have to roll back to 1.1 (unless there's a mod) to use it. And ctrl+F2, same as the interior cam, activates it.

Uhhh no exterior 'free cam' is F11 if you have it enabled in the difficulty settings.

An exterior 'chase' cam can be accessed by the period '.' key on the main keyboard.

In 1.0 and 1.1 there was an undocumented feature that gave you the ability to walk around on the deck and the bridge, as long as the sub wasn't moving. As soon as it got underway you would be left behind.

Kinda cool, but ultimately useless.

Ah... the default exterior cam has bounding boxes around the ships / subs so you cant get all that close.

Hmm, anything but useless! You could pause and get some ungodly-cool screenshots with that "feature" Such as park the cam right on the bridge of a DD and survey the destruction you've done from the IJN viewpoint just as the captain would see it.

Actually it must have been a "bug" since it was removed... :hmm: If so it's the only "bug" I actually miss, I'd gladly pay UBI $5 to put it back in the 1.3 patch
