GWX Expansion installation problems

Now I'm not sure whether this is the place to post this but I have just tried to install the most recent GWX expansion. It failed and the install mesage reads:

Test 1 passed, Test 2 passed, Test 3 passed, Test 4 passed, Test 5 failed! df636828793dc9f56d5a82a660cd63d4.
Now that reads like an Enigma message!

If any one can help I'd be most appreciative.
I have checked my SH3 version as 1.4. ( Can't figure out where the b comes in?) I have rolled back SH3Commander and deactivated all mods. I did try to patch with the latest patch from SH3 but it did not seem to recognise my version?
I have been using the original GW mods with sucess they improve the game out of sight and thank all those who make these things possible.

In port and washed up until someone can get me to sea again.

With thanks gentlemen. As a newcomer snotty I feel most welcome. I have picked up the thread as directed and it looks as if I may well not have an unmodified version so I'll follow advice given.

On board and ready to sail. Yes I must have had an unclean version. GWX expansion looks good. I lost all my previous careers from SH3 Commander! I still have the personal files in 'My documents'. Have I lost these for good or are they retrievable?
I looked for SH3cmdr.ini file. Have I inadvertently deleted it?

My father was on escorts, Russian convoys, but not PQ 17! Sent off to the Med.
