Manual input of range on TDC the range is about 100yrds short or the bearing tool on the map & attack map are 100yrds off.
Done this on a stationary target (Ise battle ship) On the map's I was about 800yrd's out and set the range manually at 800yrds when pressing the PK the marker is showing at 700yrds. |

Manually working that dial is tricky at best.

Haven't tested how this is in SH4, but in SH3 the bearing and ruler tools' readings changed 50 meters before they should have. That is, when the reading changed from 700 to 800, the actual distance was 750. 800 to 900, and the actual distance was 850, etc...

True on both accounts but on a stationary target and myself being stationary too and she's showing just over 800yrds (bearly touching the 800yrds circle going to 900yrds) on the maps with range set to 800yrds the PK should show the marker at 800 right? It's marked at 700yrds.
I typed 100yrds because that's roughly the difference between PK set and vessel. It's harder to adjust the range by hand sure but sometime the range is (set the normal way) off by 300yrds to 400yrds depending on the weather or time of day. So when I see that I adjust manually. |
