While running Silent Hunter 3, the sound sometimes starts to get scratchy. I have a SBLive! and the drivers are up to date. Silent Hunter 3 is installed with the 1.4b patch and no mods. It runs great otherwise.
Sysyem specs: Pent4 3ghz CPU, 2 gigs DDR ram, Nividia 6200 AGP video, SB Live!, Windows XP. All drivers updated. Anyone know any fixes? |

Welcome to Subsim Herr Keleun!
![]() Your problem might be the vid driver itself. It sounds kinda old to be honest, im not an expert on this stuff so you might want to wait for one. Did you have these problems before? |

I often get the same thing, also with SB live. I have an ATI x800xl s56mb graphics card. It also happens with SHIV, but no other game that I have.

Go to Start/Run, and type dxdiag.exe, and hit Enter.
On the Sound-tab, there's a slider for Hardware Sound Acceleration Level...put it to Standard, and try SH3 now...if it's not fixed, put it to Basic, and try again.
