Default Question about those markings around the destroyers...

Can someone clarify for me exactly what each of the 3 lines indicates in terms of the Destroyers sensors abilities? Thanks.

This is just my impression Capt.

The small 1/2 circle is proximity for pinging/detection.

The 3/4 circle is passive sonar capable detection, with 1/4 dead to detection, due to baffles.

The full circle is visual,& gun range.(Surface Action by AI).

Should I be incorrect,I am sure another will speak up.

I'm glad someone asked, 'cause I was curious about that myself and was going to ask the same but got distracted before I remembered to post that. Very helpful information, thanks!

Thanks guys.

I never realized the pinging range was quite that limited.

Capt.MONOLITH

In some instances it is just a proximity noise,On a harbor raid, after photo op. A gun boat pinged us but never got underway.Scary
