Default Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter 7 comes out July 21st in English-speaking countries -- get excited folks! Here's a very informative fan-site I discovered: http://mugglenet.com/

(I know, I'm such a nerd... but anyone who's a member of Subsim is -- right? :rotfl: )

Yep. I'm a 51 year old HP fan. I'll read it after my daughter finishes it 24 hours after it comes out.

I took my three kids to the last two midnight release parties at Barnes N Noble. When we are there, I do trivia games with my kids and inevitably other kids join in. Pretty soon we have a group of 15 to 20 kids all answering trivia questions.

Call it dorky, call it whatever. I call it me being a dad who enjoys spending time with my kids and being interested in something they are. Go Harry Potter!

I'm not really a HP fan, but I am amazed that the series was able to continue for 7 books. (Each of which seem to get bigger and bigger with each consecutive sequel)

I always buy the books when they come out, simply because I'm interested in the plot and enjoy reading them.

I wouldn't read them again, and I never REALLY like them, but they're a fun read

I'm a librarian and I enjoy the books (I've pre ordered No.7 from the Border's bookshop). The First two I would be happy to give to 10-12 year old, but the others I would hold off till their a little older.

It's well written, as the fact there is an "Adults edition", which is just the book with a different cover.

I forget almost everything untill the next book comes around. Is this the last one or what? So far so good but I'd like to judge the damn thing already and for that I need an ending.

You mean, the proper cover. The non-adult versions are bloody hideous.

Hermonie dies.
(because JK Rowling was so pissed about the cliche over all these years, she just decided to spite everyone)

The fourth movie was horrible in every way. What was the fifth one? Is that the one where they break into the office and Gary Oldman dies? Is that right? The series was good up to the third movie. The third movie was the absolute pinnacle of everything. I have faith that....whoever, Columbia, MGM, Warner, will blow the 5th movie as badly as the fourth.

meh.

Anything that gets kids interested in reading is a good thing.

The movies suck. They are nothing like the books. Out of sequence, totally missing parts. I watched two then stopped.

I agree -- the movies are pretty bad. I'm talking about the book, which comes out July 21st. The 5th movie also comes out around the same time.

There are three different covers, the Adults, Kids (U.S.) and Kids (Rest of the world). The american editions also have different spelling and grammer, and the first has a different title due to fears that U.S. kids may not understand it!

I found that the third movie was the best of the four so far. The last is best not spoken about!

I have already told my wife that the day that it comes out, that I'm going to take my book and read it from cover to cover (only stoping for food, drink and loo breaks), so she's planning a day out. Win-Win I think
