Default The CIA gets it Right!

Firstly, let me appoligize to the CIA for any disparaging comments I may have made ragarding them being a bunch of goody goody Mormons and relying too much on spy satelite technology.

Apparently, the called the situation in Iraq spot on.

Among other things, the 40-page Senate report reveals that two intelligence assessments before the war accurately predicted that toppling Saddam could lead to a dangerous period of internal violence and provide a boost to terrorists.
I don't think that you need the kind of budget the CIA gets, or need to be a rocket scientist to have been able to make that kind of 'prediction', one look at Germany after WW1, or France after WW2 could have told you that.

Writing a 40 page report on that is like spending a week coming up with a prediction that there will be a Tuesday next week...

I often said that politicians actively ignored input from the intel community, instead forced them to produce the kind of "info" they wanted and needed to bring the public behind the war (that was preplanned and outlined in a paper by wolfowitz in the early 90s, then was sunk into a drawer during the Clinton years). Due to this manipulation of intel data, or better: it'S replacement by propaganda, I often said that the administration was lying. Of course they made it appear afterwards as if they had been given bad data by the intel services, and that it all was the CIA's fault. The usual blame-game of politicians and high-ranking officials with stakes in the game.

Yup. It's Rumsfeld and his genius with the "lean and mean" thing that got it wrong. There is no lean and mean when it comes to occupating Iraq. It takes bleeding and only rich and fat can take prolonged bleeding.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw the topic XD

I wasnt aware that the CIA had anything good going for it, except "The Good Shepherd" which was a top-class movie.

The CIA is not made up of Mormons (LDS, Latter Day Saints) they recruit from all walks of life, college age to professor's, mililatary minded, to arm chair generals they represent American intelligence gathers and reporters and sometimes executioners, but they are not Mormons.

Christians do not accept the teachings of Mormons who have adopted a Christ like cult movement, but do not represent the main stream Christian values.

The FBI has been known to have a Mormom or two, but not the CIA.

Google a mormon and you will be shocked ...

I'm sorry if I offended anyone it was sort of a joke. When I was a teenager back in the 80's, a Child of Reagan, and fascinated with the CIA, I remember reading that due to their sqeaky clean backgrounds, there were a lot of Mormons going into the CIA. If you even did acid once, for instance, you can't be in Military Intelligence or CIA.

the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence will on Friday release selected portions of pre-war intelligence
'selected portions'

I wonder what a Democratically controlled Select Committee would have released?
More politics and less clarity.
