Default Help with distance please.

Hi All

I have just started to play with "no updates", much, much better for those that haven't tried it - increases the intensity tremendously.

But I need to know when my sonar man tells me "... long distance"; "... medium distance"; "... short distance" what value must I give to short, medium and long. I imagine these would be approx estimates.

Also regarding speed. He will also say " ... moving fast, slow" etc. What are these approx values as well. I would imagine however, that with regard speed it would be dependant on the vessel, as a "fast" regard a destroyer would be different to a "fast" regarding a tanker. But approximate indications would help.

Thanks for the help.

Hi, this is my first post (just registered on the forums a moment ago) although I've been happily reading through all of the helpful information here for a few days now. I just saw Von Tonner's question and wanted to chime in that I'm really curious about the exact same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is right but I think long range is 2000 meters or more away, medium I think is 1000-1999 meters away, and short is under 1000 meters away. Again, I'm not 100% sure this is right.

I read somewhere that show meant approx 6 knots. Medium is approximately 9. Not how this holds up for different ships as it was said in regards to convoy speeds. Also don't know what speed high would correspond too, Next time I'm playing I'll how accurate this seems.
