Default 4th Astute Ordered!

well i have to say i'm a tad surprised. I was under the impression that they wouldn't order the 4th. Regardless, glad they are making a commitment to modernising the UKs submarine force.

Hopefully not at the expense of the surface fleet :hmm:

We have a surface fleet? When did that happen?

Next you'll be saying we have a Air-to-air fleet air arm!!

If I remember rightly the first Astute is scheduled to launch on 8 June 2007. Hopefully this will make the news in the UK when it happens.

I think some work had already begun on 4th and 5th hulls so the order went ahead.

The navy is getting a boost at least, surface fleet with new destroyers and proper aircraft carriers instead of the pathetic obsolete toys we have now IF the order is allowed is good news.

Pity the air force aren't getting a lot or the army.
