..i think im through with this game

i made a visual contact with a huge convoy so i estimated their overall course and it was pretty damn accurate and i managed to avoid 3 destroyers. then they all cross over my bow and i send out 6 torpedoes and get 4 hits and 2 tankers sunk. then on my way to surface to finish off the oter tankers before the destroyers turn around my god damn game crashed when i try to change my course....WTF COME ON!!!!!!! mabey ill play again when they patch it.

Haven't had the game crash on me yet. Hmm... Maybe a mem leak? Do you have at least 2 GB memory?

Heh,the only reason I'm through with the game is because my pc just can't handle it very well.(The game is a slow slideshow on that machine.). Once I get a new pc I intend on playing the hell out of SH4.

I think it's all been said really. Save the game frequently, and make sure your PC is running efficiently.

I've had 2 CTD's and they were both fixed by patches (stadimeter and "A" key). Other than that, the game has never crashed on me. You might want to examine your software setup before blaming the game.

But as has been mentioned before in this forum, isn't the save game function somewhat unreliable as well?

In all fairness, I've had a few CTD's since 1.2 which have been annoying as well , though I haven't quit playing yet.

Have been lucky that I have not had any CTD's since I started playing SH4. I had one lock up and it was on the OS that needed to be reinstalled anyway so cant blame the sim for that. I do agree with the tired of the "I'm done with this game......." complaints. I really miss my german engineneered torps but oh well. Do love dunking those meatballs.......
