Default Stock water in GWX

Although GWX has revived SH III to such an extent that I play it every night (again), I must admit that I liked the stock SH III water better.....

Although the almost transparent water is highly unrealistic, I like it because it allows me to admire my sub.

The great SH III commander allows you to set the transparency of the water ( set at 20 on my rig)....but it still is Atlanticky dark......

Is there any way to restore the original setting SH III setting for water........and allow me to see my sub even when close to crush depth?

I don't want to change anything else....GWX...

Any help appreciated..

Yeah I, too, keep free view enabled. To me, a big part of the fun is the cinematic experience of watching things happen from the external camera view. It's like watching a movie where you direct the action. I even like watching the depth charges explode around my sub.

I tried turning it off for a while to be more realistic but then the game becomes 90% staring at the map screen listening to pings and explosions.

Its I dont use SH3 commander
but from what I know you have to fill in the stock valeus of the water density.

maybe the SEARCH function will help you finding the thread where it has been mentioned before

Edit: never mind , here it is http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...72&postcount=2

Interesting the preferences on water. I like the darker, options are nice though

Thanks HunterICX, but I have already made the water transparent by putting the value in SHIII commander to 20.

It still is dark...I think you need to tweak the coloring and lighting effects....

I'll have a search....

For anyone interested:

I downed Unrealuboat 1.43....it restores the original Sh III settings for water color and clarity..

Right now SH III is 'flavored to taste ' for me!

ReM; could you, or anybody, give me a location where I can download the UnRealUboat mod? Thanks!

It would be interesting to see just how clear the water is in that mod because my understanding was that a setting of 20 using SH3Cmdr was clearer than stock :hmm:

I'll host it for your convenience for a couple of days.....let's hope I don't tick anyone off by doing this, the mod was made, I believe, by Jasonb885; no work from my part whatsoever. If he has a problem with me providing it, let me know and I'll remove it.

I think it is not the clarity, but the color of the water that is the determining factor; the only changes made are the Env. files and the scene.dat. It just returns the game to stock 1.4 values which I like better because it allows me to view my sub underwater.
