Default Damage control, esp. hull integrity

Hello,
4th patrol in the middle of a huge atlantic storm and at night and I was a bobbing cork in the middle of a large convoy. Someone spotted me and star shells and search lights were all around me. I was recieving fire and we took some damage to the radio/sonar compartment. We crash dived.
There was no equipment damage, but I put peeps in the damage control area just to be sure and we escaped, but not after I put 2 large tankers on the bottom.
I got back to base and hull integrity was 98.50%.
1. I am wondering if there is a way to see you hull intergrity while at sea?
2. Does the ship yard automatically fix everything, so that the next patrol, you'll be back in tip-top shape? and your hull integrity will be back to 100%?
I know if there is compartment damage, there will not be the "no damage" text next to the compartmant name in the damage control box, and to fix this you left-click on the compartment to select it as priority, but is there anyway to see all your status including hull integrity at sea?
thanks, sorry for the redundancy

3. Also, is there a way to see how much flooding youre having?

depends on if you're using mods or not as far as hull integ goes.

i know that in stock sh3, you can see it by going to the crew assignment screen. should be in the upper right some where.

if you're using gwx version of sh3, you dont see hull integ.

anything damage wise you would see from the crew management screen. including flooding. not to mention your crew will be more than willing to tell you if there's flooding, and if all else fails you'll notice your boat sinking into the depths.

i know when you go back to base, your hull integ is fixed. i'm not sure about systems though, because i've always fixed those while at sea. if they're destroyed, they are repaired at base before your next mission.

thank you. I'm running GWX1.03 and SH3 commander.
Where is the flooding info? I'm thinking that it's in the box that has the info about systems and whether they are functioning or not?
thanks again for the help.

1.
In the stock game you can see it in the upper right corner of the damage control screen. Some mods, like GWX, remove it. You can put it back with SH3Smdr, or possibly by editing some file also.

2.
If you dock at your base, yes. If you dock anywhere else, I can't tell you, never did this. You can see the status of a compartment by clicking on it in the damage screen or clicking on the compartment name in the same screen.

3. You can estimate the amount of watter already in the sub, from looking at the damage screen. You can actually see the water rising in the sub picture. The rate of flooding can be estimated from the amount of time it takes for a compartment to be completely flooded.

SH3 Cmdr allows for hull integrity to be turned on or off.....my advice would be to have it turned on until you get a 'feel' for when your sub might be suffering from damage

If you have your damage control crew at work in a compartment or if you click on the compartment in the large sub image, you can see the time to receover from flooding. The higher this number, the longer it will take to stem the flow and secure the compartment. You then may have to pump out the water which can take time as well.

Remember if you are silent running nothing gets fixed so if you have flooding you take the noise hit to get things squared away before you can go silent again. There is a mod that extends the time taken for damage control which makes for a very callenging excersise if you have extensive damage. Remember also except in the crew compartments, if you have crew on duty in a compartment they will contribute to the efforts to repair damage but will take longer than if the damage control crew are assigned to the compartment.
