GWX Version?
Hello everyone. Long time lurker here.
![]() I downloaded gwx from GameShadow last week, and I wanted to make sure it was the most current version. What I see in my downloads folder is: sh3_greywolves_v110.exe What I see as the latest patch for gwx on jimbuna's site is 1.03. ![]() So how do I tell what version of gwx I have installed? If I need to install the 1.03 patch, do i need to do anything special to install it, or does it install as easy as the executable I downloaded from Game Shadow? On another note, I have to say that being hunted by destroyers isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Granted, they're alot better than stock sh3, but they're not smoking me like I thought they would. I'm only on year '41 though. From everything I've ready about gwx, I was quite nervous as I set up for an attack on my first convoy. But all is well so far! |

Welcome to Subsim
![]() I would be a little cautious as I can't remember if Gameshadow has a copy of Greywolves & GWX ![]() To verifiy which version you have installed on your system, when you load SH3 you will be presented with a 'howling wolf' intro if you have GWX installed. The version number will appear on the next loading screen. Instructions for installing & preparing for GWX & Patches can be found in the manual, which you can view online by clicking on my sig. Also, be advised that all needed files and information is contained on the same site. ![]() I hope this helps.

Yep, I do get the howling wolf upon start up. I'll have to pay more attention and see what version I have.
Here's what I get for talking trash about gwx destroyers.. hehe Patrol 6, botched a convoy attack and god dc'd to the point where I thought for certain I was dead. Some how, my crew managed to stop heavy flooding in multiple compartments. I ended up sitting on the bottom until they gave up the search. Limped back to port with: stern tube destroyed stb and port electric engine destroyed electric engine room compressor destroyed port diesel engine destroyed aft batteries destroyed con tower heavily damanged Glad I made it out, though. Playing dead is dead and really didnt want to start over! |

BTW, if you see *no* version number on the loading screen under the word "Expansion" (LRHS), then you have GWX 1.0. Click on my sig to d/l 1.03.
No "Expansion" text on the loading screen means that you have the original Grey Wolves. I state this because I'm only aware of GameShadow having TGW1.1 or GWX1.0 available. And the filename you've quoted does sound suspiciously like the original TGW. :hmm: |

Thanks for all the help.
The GameShadow file 'sh3_greywolves_v110.exe' would indeed be GWX 1.0 as the loading screen has GWX in the upper left hand corner with 'Expansion' in red in the lower right hand corner, with no version number present. Downloading 1.03 patch now ![]() |
