Default DD's behavior - which files ?

Hello :-)

I love GWX, I don't like mods, but just installed GWX, and this is really great mod
(except few sounds, I have my own soundpack

But......... I want to change DD's AI behavior/sensors, why ?

1939, 120 meters below, silent running, DD's over 300 meters away, they know
exactly where I'm.. Too much experts IMHO :-)

------------------------------------------------------------------
So, QUESTION - which files are bound with DD's behavior/sensors ?
probably sensors.cfg, but when I can change DD's experience level ?
------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank You for GWX modders, really good job!

Best Regards

Stary Wuj

OOpsss, can someone move this post to SH3 Modding forum ?

Mmm..

be very carefull with that Sensors m8
from what I've hear 1 change can screw up the behaviour of the AI totally

its adviced not to touch them unless you have a lot of experience with it,

if you run silent Rig
did you set your speed to 2 knots?
as 3 knots will make enough noise for the Escorts to hear you via the hydro's

also what kind of DD was it?

there is a online manual in a thread by ducimus about the AI behaviour in GWX
maybe its worth the read: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=104377

still, weird thought I run GWX myself and have had a lot of Escorts chasing my butt but they werent that hard.
as such I even got myself pinged down in the channel of england and lived to tell the the story that I made it out Unscratched

30 meters water, in the middle of a Minefield , 5 escorts above my head in 1940

Thank You, I think question is "experience level" of DD's.
You are right with sensors, but which file is bound with experience ?

Best Regards

The experience level can be changed either through the mission editor in the Campaign SCR or RND layer but it is alot easier to trawl the SCR & RND layers in wordpad or notepad.

You should be able to find the entries that make up the convoys or TF's there. Failing that, just have a quick look in the mission editor with the RND layer open, IIRC when you 'define group contents' (or something similar) for a convoy you can also set the experience level of the ships. Once you have an idea of how to do it this way it should be easier to find the entries in the text version.

EDIT - IMPORTANT - Make copies and work in those. Don't want to fubar a working copy.
