All Sorted - was missing the Eax.dll - found one on the net - placed it in the modules file and all works OK on Windows Vista

I have been watching and rewatching Master and Commander (Far Side of the World in the book) and wondered how can the chase be reproduced in a game.

This is too much to wish for but I hope there's a Age of Sail III with dynamic campaign which allows the player to navigate his/her ship across the ocean, with ocean currents, winds direction, season-of-the-year factored in. What is an age of sail game without navigation?

Sea Dogs comes close. It allows you to navigate the ship around but I have noticed that all scripted encounters are limited near ports or islands. Apparently the game only allows random encounters in the middle of the sea. Perhaps this has to do with the difficulty of writing procedures for mid-sea interception?

I get a lot of fun "navigating" HMS Victory around the world using Virtual Sailor
