AI & Lost ports

Well, just came out of my 2nd patrol and on the way back decided to have a look around Wake Island as the last news was it had been lost to the Japanese. Now mind you, this was news i received during my first patrol.

After being detected by the coastal guns in the middle of night i dived but just before that my watch had spotted a US freighter coming up behind us and happily steaming for the Wake harbour.

Needless to say eventually it got it's ass handed to it but as i was following it with the external camera it never changed course while being shelled.

I suppose suicide is now incoporated into the AI cause this was just

. Just felt i had to share this one.

On a sidenote, fun to just watch it.

The campaign data has some silly routes like that. At least in your case Wake had just been lost. I'm still trying to figure why there are lots of british and dutch ships leaving/entering Djakarta in 44, while Japanese destroyers patrol the harbour.

There are modders now working on the campaign layers to correct flaws
there. This will result in a big super mod being released in the future.
That is why I just play missions and do single patrols until the campaign
game is brought back to reality (or close to it anyway)
