In all honesty I think it's done for you, but I normally press the A button which I think is maintain depth.

I think there's an issue with stopping a crash dive, I think you end up down at the stern until the next crash dive, or has this been fixed?

Hit the 'A' key to level off.
It won't be instantaneous. I've noticed that the sub will continue to dive (momentum) but eventually the rate of sink will decrease, and the sub will rise to the depth at which you hit 'A'. |
