The Shawshank Redemption

When the fat guy is crying the first night they are brought into the prison.

The fatguy starts crying, and the winning prisoner says, "And it's lardass by a nose."

I laughed for the next 15 minutes. Including right through the scene where the chief guard beats the poor guy to death. My friends and everyone in the theater looked at me very strangely.

Sometimes. I'll give a movie story, too.

Back in 1982 there was a movie called Deathtrap, starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve and Dyan Cannon. The plot was ostensibly Caine as a famous playright who's lost his touch, and planning to kill former student Caine and steal his brilliant new play. The real plot is for Caine and Reeve to scare Cannon (who has a weak heart) to death and live off her fortune. After Cannon dies, Caine and Reeve lean over her body and share a very tender kiss.

While the audience sat in stunned silence, my wife suddenly blurted out "But that's SUPERMAN!"

The whole theater roared.

Another movie one; a mate from Edinburgh, where I hail from originally, and I went to the cinema in Bath to see Trainspotting when it came out. We were the only ones in a packed cinema to LOL at the scene in the pub where the guy gets mugged and the screen caption says 'First day of the Edinburgh Festival' a lot of heads turned towards us :p
