Default Inactive escorts in rough seas at night

It seems the escorts wont respond to the sinking of ships from torps or deck gun under very rough seas.

I assume its because of the visibilty limitations of high seas and darkness. Even the merchants had difficulty keeping their spot-lights on me. It seems the high waves would break their visual lock on me and they would have to start searching for me again. Sadly their search meant they didnt look where I was, but did a complete 360 degree search again...so sad Sometimes they never re-acquired me.

The escorts just stayed at their stations and blinked, but not one did a random search through the convoy. You'd expect that since they couldnt see me, that once interior ships starting going up and teh deck gun was in use (which I think I shouldnt have been able to do since it was rough seas and they said it themselves) that atleast one escort would have done a sweep inside the convoy, atleast move toward the first ship hit...something!
