Default [REL] wartime tonnage ace list

Wartime tonnage aces "mod"

http://files.filefront.com/wartime_t.../fileinfo.html

Even back in SH3, it seemed unrealistic to me that the "ace list" was always composed of the real score of those top skippers.
The real score was unknown to either side in WW2. The figures in those lists were the result of postwar research. In chase of the US Navy, the Joint Army-Navy asessment committee (JANAC) compiled a detailed loss list of japanese ships directly after WW2, and the sinking credits were revised. However, during wartime, this research results were not yet known.
For example, Richard O'Kane was credited with 31 ships of over 200,000 tons sunk, after the war that was reduced to 24 ships with just over 100,000 tons.
And as the SH skipper always tended to sink more in less time than historical, it was natural that the player became number 1 in short time.
Using the patrol lists in "silent victory" I have compiled a new tonnage list of the score of the aces as it was known to other US Sub skippers during wartime. I've added a few skippers, most notably the two most notorious tonnage overclaimers, Roy Davenport and Willam S. Post. Both only sank half as many ships and a quarter of the tonnage they claimed. With most others you can put down the difference between claimed tonnage and actual result on human error, but I have my doubts with these two...
Now you have 200,000 tons to beat!
In the original list, the update was dated on the exact date the skipper sank a ship. Of course this is urealistic, as final scores for a patrol would only become known after the patrol report had been endorsed by the sub command staff.
So in my version, the score of the skippers is only updated after they returned from a war patrol.
I wonder wether anyone else except me thought this mod was necessary..:hmm::rotfl:

This mod is compatible with just about anything, as only one file is changed, and that file does not need to be changed for anything else
