Default Ideas For Settings with a GeForce 8800GTX?

Built a whole new machine and with the vast variety of settings let alone all of the sub groupings I was wondering if anyone out there could get me in the ball park as to where SH4 likes and looks best for graphics. Yes, I can max out all settings both with the card and the sliders within SH4 and it runs smooth as silk but I wonder if some things might actually work against each other - such as leaving the sim decide on anti-aliasing or force it over to run at 16x or 16q (or whatever that other 16 setting is - I'm at work and can't check it).

Since FPS is no longer an issue, I'm trying to achieve the best graphics. I don't really notice much difference running SH4 at 1258x1024 versus my older setting of 1024x748 so far as details go.

So how about it, is SH4 known to like certain settings over others with an 8800? I'll thank you all in advance!

I have the 8800 GTS, and I usually leave all the settings in the nvidia control panel alone and let the computer manage them...
I run SH4 at 1152x864, max out 3d damage, characters detail, particle density.
Terrain objects about 7/8 across, LOD size 3/4, gamma about 1/2.
Have got ticked, Light shafts, Enviromental effects, and everything on the right hand side.

Everything runs great and looks terrific in my game...

it can't work against each other because it's not a selectable setting in-game

(also, I think you made a typo listing your HDD specs)

I would recommend setting Texture Filtering to High Quality in the Nvidia control panel if it isn't already
