Is there a realistic aircraft vs weather mod?

I am a 15,000 hour pilot IRL -- both military and civilian. When the weather gets really bad, I thought it was relatively safe to run on the surface during daylight. Yet, I keep getting attacked by aircraft, even when I can see lightning. This is not realistic unless there is a known threat. Are there any mods out there that compensate for nasty weather grounding aircraft?

Not. I have 3000 air defense combat duty. As my commander said, the enemy has all-weather aviation.
