Default Mod to fix "fish-eye vision" in Type II?

As above - is there a mod out there to fix the "fish-eye vision" in the Type II? IE., note when you first start a patrol/load a save/play a single mission, and you start in the control room, you see a correct field-of-view. It looks very cramped, you are quite close to your officers, etc. Now, switch position - any station at all -and go back to the control room view. Note that you are now in "fish-eye vision", looks like your field-of-view just about doubles. It appears much more roomy, and you can spin you entire view around with half as much mouse distance.

FANTASTICALLY irritating - any way to fix that? Say, change field-of-view on a camera in the Type II or something? (Only seems to effect that boat, too)

Sorry I missed your post.

Assuming that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, I'll do what i can to address it.

With the it is difficult to get the internal cameras correct without having other unpleasant side effects.

I'll see what I can do.

In the case of the Duck... this could actually be a stock SH3 issue if the FOV from the same position changes when you move away and then back to it.

While the shift-F2 view definitely is LESS fish-eyed (it doesn't switch back and forth between two modes), you can't actually interact with any of the crew or gauges from that view. And when you switch back to the con view, it's fisheyed again.

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd suppose that due to the Type II's design, it either has an extra camera position inside it, or one short of the other U-Boats. Either way, the game correctly chooses the one position on loading, but in use, for some reason, it only selects the other.

The 'fix' would be to just set both camera positions to the same settings (set the 'incorrect' one it uses after switching stations to the same values as the 'correct' one it initially uses and cannot be selected afterwards).

Yes you are correct. That is one way to approach it.

Doesn't sound like the GWX way to approach it.:p

Well, it's the obvious/easy solution, anyway.

Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy with any solution at all, but I'm hitting a wall trying to understand the camera view settings for the boats.

Okay, looking at the cameras.dat file adjustment settings...

Each camera adjustment is a "one adjustment fits all boats" problem.

Therefore, if I adjust it for the Type II, it may (will probably) cause problems for other boats. Ergo, what seemed to be a simple fix in concept... naturally turns out to be more difficult than was first apparent.

It is on my list of "to-be-tinkered-with" for the GWX 1.04 update. However, it is low on the priority list.

In the meantime an alternative for you. A couple of years ago, CCIP made several camera setting mods. You might speak with him for the links or search here.
