Default Mod Question

Somehow my game will no longer load with a mod. Used Jgmse and realfleet boat. have deleted both and reinstalled. Still no go. Any ideas on fixing this?

Sounds like a re-install/repatching is in order. Then try again.

Ok, I did a complete delete-reinstall. Patch to 1.2, reinstall jsgme, reinstalled Realfleetboat mod. Now, Game runs up fine by itself. If I try to run with the mod/any mod, disk runs up, screen goes black, and comp goes into overdrive end task to get out. It worked at one time pre 1.2 but it started doing this with 1.1 so im lost. Patch is much better, but mods make it tons better.

Are you using RFB 1.13 or RFB 1.2? Using the first one with the new patch will not work. You need to download and use the newer version.

using rfb 1.2 also latest jsgme. uninstalled and deleted everything i could find last night. Reinstalled and patched to latest. Still just a few seconds disk runup then black screen, and 100% workload on processor, SH4 not responding.

Default same problem

Exacly same problem here. RFB 1.2, game v 1.2. If i install RFB using mod manager then RFB doesn't work. If installed manually, then game crashes.

Just Tried Flavored to taste. Same problem. Maybe linked to Mod enabler? Did everything the same as I have in the past. Shrug.

It's definitly not JSGME problem, must be something with game itself. On SH4 1.1 i only used "A" button bug-fix so can't tell if it's 1.2 problem.

Angus/Mencken:

I would do the following:
1. Completely uninstall - remembering to:
- Look for the "residual" Ubisoft/SHIVWolves of Pacific folder and deleting that
- Clean out your registry by uisng something like RegCleaner
(http://www.webmasterfree.com/RegCleaner_d7625.html)

2. Reboot.
3. Re-install SHIV
4. Reboot.
5. Run SHIV v1.0 (to make sure the issue is not a corrupt install)
6. Patch to v1.2 (don't bother w/ 1.1)
7. Reboot
8. Run SHIV v1.2 (to make sure the issue is not a corrput patch)
9. Install JSGME
10. Re-download the Mod of your choice - copy to MOD directory in SHIV folder.
11. Install one at a time and run SHIV to make sure they work.

If you have any of the failures you describe in steps 5, 8, 11 you will then know why. If you make it to step 8 and do step 10 correctly you should be able to back-out any problematic mods and not screw up your freshly patched version of SHIV,

Good luck.

Same here no luck. Uninstalled and deleted, even shredded, all the files and programs I could think of. Even uninstalled SH3 and associated mods * GASP*. Reinstalled SH4. Used update tool to install patch. Game runs. Set-up JGSME to SH4 folder. Game runs. Unzip mod to mod folder created by JGSME. Game runs. Enable mod via JGSME. Disc runs up, then goes to black screen. CNTRL-alt-del or alt -tab to get out and shut down unresponsive game. Also ran defrag and registry mechanic in between each step for good measure. Game runs fine unmodded, but if i cant play BlueWolves supermod later on, well life wont be the same.
