Two Q's about international dateline bug

1.) Does it occur just east of Midway? Just west of Midway, or At Midway?

2.) In SH3, was Midway on the right hand side of the map, or the left side? (Yes this is related).

Reason i ask is im contemplating making a mod that moves the Pacific fleet flotilla from Pearl to some location where the dateline bug wont effect it.
