And it is driving me nuts!!!
Is there any way I can temporarily override the Time Compression settings? I appreciate having the Time Compression rules that will automatically reduce the TC when certain situations present themselves, i.e., aircraft or other ships close by. However, these same TC rules make it a pain in the butt leaving a harbour like Lorient. Creeping along at TC 1 really takes the fun out of this game. I know there are ships in the area and I know that there are aircraft, but it is in my own harbour! I don’t need to have TC drop to 1 just because I am passing all these ships or the circling aircraft are in my area. I have tried reducing my watch to one person and removing the radio/sonar person from their stations in port but I still get bogged down in TC issues. Is there mod out that that would allow me to temporarily override the TC rules while in my own harbour but allow them to operate once I get to open water when I need them? Something in the order of “hold down the control key when changing TC will override the rules” Or, has someone smart coded a mod that allows me to start a mission 25Km outside the port like in SH4. I like the harbour graphics but after you have exited the harbour twice it becomes more an annoyance. |

Mine is a solid 32x out of my harbor. If you don't want your sonar people to drop your TC to 1x every few seconds, do this:
Put your radioman and sonarmen in the stern quarters until you're out to sea. Sitting at their stations, they're merely doing their jobs by keeping the captain informed of nearby traffic. Secondly, as soon as you leave the berth, dive to periscope depth for your trip out to sea, and you should be able to hold 32x. Once clear of the harbor, and out to sea, increase speed to what you want, put your sonar and radio people back at their stations, and you're good to go, so to speak. ![]()

There is no mod like what you describe, the only way would be to manualy do it (save and exit, change the file that controls the time accelleration settings, load the game)

Running GWX? If so, install the Lite Harbor Traffic optional mod. Reduces harbour traffic which reduces TC drops.

I used to have the same problem, until I activated Lite Harbor traffic option.

The reason why you can't use high time compression in harbors such as Lorient is that you're too close to land. You can manually adjust your tc settings if you go to your personal documents, open the sh3 folder and search for the file main.cfg. Open it with an editor and raise the tc settings when close to land to a number higher than 4X.

it you need Tweeksh3 as opposed to tweek sub that will provide you with an easy way to do it instead of manually editing the config. what you need to do is reduce crew fatigue setting to a lower number so when your in high tc on the bridge the crew fatigue is turned off at 32 tc for the harbour issue you need to adjust the valid tc for hunterstate or prey state but mostly whats bugging you is the time setting for "land proximity" and that I set to 64 tc or 2048 depends on if I plan on being on deck or not. I looked and the link for wolfies tweek pack on the modifs and tools
list is dead i realize I have dumped my own copy but will look through my backups a little later in lieu of the tweek pak try this locate the following file C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg within it locate this section then flavour to taste as it were. each number represents the default tc for each eventtype prey state is when your being stalked hunter state is when your stalking I set radio reports to 1 tc in campaign so I dont miss a nearby reported convoy and overshoot it while reading the message. [TIME COMPRESSION] TimeStop=0 RealTime=1 LandProximity=128 CriticalDamage=1 CrewEfficiency=1 AirEnemyDetected=1 SoundEffects=2 CharacterAnim=4 EnemyDetected=8 RadioReport=8 Particles=8 PrayState=8 HunterState=32 3DRender=32 Maximum=1024 Particle will show wakes above normal tc settings if you up it but that will put a load on your system under tc Maximum max setting is 4096 but how fast your max can be depends on your own computers ability to deal with it so it may have to be lower Just to reitterate though whats bugging you most is land proximity (normal setting is to prevent you grounding without warning) [edit] ps your file may not have the above displayed settings. [quote=JSconesIn your SH3/GWX installation folder will be a file called JSGME.exe. Run it. On the left of the screen select "GWX - Lite Harbor Traffic". Press Enable. Done.[/quote]
Thanks for that answer. I might, just might, be able to follow that ![]() |

SH3 Commander is a tool that will easily let you change this.
