SH3 Commander question

hey all

I am playing vanilla SH3 with the Commander addon. 89 percent realism.
I heard that between patrol 16 and usually 26 it retires a commander.

Mine has been fighting it out from 9 Sept to now Oct 43, and is about to embark on his 33rd patrol?

is that the norm or am I just doing something wrong??

Well have you enabled "realistic career length"? If you don't then you could ride it out to the end of the war.
