I dropped my 6800 Gt for a 7600 GS just to hold over till I can get a new system.
However after installing the card the game locks up on a black screen. I tried old drivers, new, and Beta. re-installed the game and so on. I saw someone had the same issue and deleted the intro movies and it works, but mine just goes back to the desktop. Any ideas? Xp AMD 3200 2GHz 1g ram 7600 GS 512 |

Did you delete both movies ? there are 2 of them at the start of the game. Renaming them may not be enough, move them out of the dir or delete them altogether.
I was the one that had that problem, it was related to Media player having problems. Possibly due to the large ammount of porn on my harddrive. your problem may be different, how far does it go before it drops back to the desktop ? |

Have you tried running any other games yet ?, make sure the card is running them at least, you may have gotten a dud.
Oh and you plugged in the extra power connector on the vid card ? |

Little update
I went into settings then troubleshoot and turned down hardware acceleration 1 click and the game started up. However even after I turned down the settings to low it was more jerky then with my 6800. |

I had the exact same issue but with my 7800GS+ OC I updated the drivers to 97.95 and the game stopped working just a black screen. Downloaded the latest Forceware driver 93.71 WHQL and everything is smooth and stutter free maxed out.
Have a look at www.guru3d.com for the latest drivers. Try one of the WHQL drivers if you haven't already should fix it. Cheers, Dave

I have read other posts, but still need help.
Specs: AMD 64 bit Athlon 3500 2 gb dual channel RAM GeForce 7600 GS 512 mb, PCI Express I can view movie, but very stuttery and jerky (I am still using integrated audio). When movie is over and menu should appear, Light goes green on my monitor, but screen stays black, nothing!!! I'll try notching down hardware acceleration, but does anyone know the answer. I invested @$300 US in 2 GB memory and 7600 GS, and game still doesn't work, on a machine that is above specs, very depressing. |

You might try using a driver cleaner to get rid of all the nvidia files on your PC. Then load up the drivers that came with your new vid card.
It's a good thing to do. ![]()
