Default Tiny Dials

Have been hunting the forums but cant seem to find any direct info on the issue I have. It seems I am going to have to wait a while for GWX and was wondering if the issue of small depth gauge and Compass is something that is fixed in GWX and/or is available in another patch (for the time being) as the current display makes precise depth and headings almost impossible to acheive.

Is this a common issue that was fixed?
