Default Query about resolution....

I have read a couple of threads in which a number of people complain about the lack of optional resolution in SHIV. Thing is, I can select a whole slew of different resolutions for my game. I'm currently running at 1600x1200 @ 75 Hz with all gfx settings up full, and can switch to any resolution I choose. If I can pick different resolutions, is my rig so much better than that of some of my fellow skippers or am I reading the threads wrong?

My Rig (if it makes a difference):
Abit KN9 SLI Mobo
AMD 64 X2 5200+ Dual Core Processor with HT @ 2.6Ghz
Foxconn Geforce 8800GTS 320MB GFX Card
Audigy 2 Sound Card
3GB DDR2 Ram @ 800Mhz
WinXP SP2

You can play in different resolutions, however the screen is only upscaled from 1024x768. Kind of like when you blow up a Jpeg, you see funny artifacts and odd lines where you couldn't normally see them.

So, yes you can play in different resolutions, but not really...
