Default 8th Patrol... guess where

For the 8th time now I have been sent on the same mission, partrol off the coast of Honshu, with the exception of the patrol area being 100km or so away from the previous.

Where the fark are all the other missions? This is worse than vanilla SH3 telling me to patrol BE23 three times in a row.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Had the same problem and I found a fix for it, but it involves editing a config file in your documents folder.

read about it here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...light=Campaign

Who said you HAD to do a mission. You can just ignore the mission and hunt if thats your thing. It's only a couple of hundred renown.

Exactly; I remember doing that in Silent Hunter 3. I would just patrol along Convoy lanes and not the single merchant rountes that were assigned to me. With the extra renown I recieved for taking out so many ships it was well more than the normal amount I would have recieved for patrolling a grid for 24hrs.

Exactly.

Unless you edit your configuration file to give you 6000 renown or something, the missions just aren't that great of a renown source. You'll get more if you find a nice convoy spot and wait for passenger liners. Any small convoy going "fast" has two liners in it.

Sounds like something wrong on your end, I don't mean you...others get a variety of missions. Just a thought do you complete your missions sucessfully?

I know you can do your own missions, but it kinda ruins the immersiveness, as in disobeying your orders. I dont like the idea of being a "pirate Gato" plundering the high seas

Until the last two missions I couldnt figure out how to complete a mission, but thanks to this forum the last two were completed successfully by staying within a 50 mi radius of my mission marker for 48 hrs.

I may just start a new career out of a different port other than Pearl Harbor, just to see if that helps. I just hate to give up my experienced crew after 8 patrols.

You can't be doing too badly to have 8 patrols though. Haven't other people had careers bagged after 3 or 4 patrols because they weren't aggressive enough or is it just random how many missions you are given before being "demobbed(?)" or told to walk the plank so to speak.

Me not doing to bad I think can be atributted to setting the inital career screen to "easy". I have since gone in to realism and only have external camera and auto TDC on. But it seems the AI destroyers are brain dead. I wonder if "easy" affects AI intelligence.
