Realism Settings Problem

Sorry if this one's been asked before, but no matter what I do I don't seem to be able to set my realism settings to anything other than low.

I started with auto-TDC and suchlike at the beginning just while I got into the swing of things. Now I want to do the job properly and have tried several times to switch on various realism options - but invariably, when I actually take to the sea, my settings are all back as they were.

This is as I try to start a career - I haven't run a single mission or war patrol yet.

Can anyone suggest anything, or even just point me towards a thread that deals with this? Is there some hidden setting somewhere that's overriding what I set in the main Options menu?

Thanks,

M.

Just prior to going out on patrol, click on one of the books on the bookshelf (left-hand side) which will bring up the options. If you set them there, you will be fine during your war patrol. Hope that helps.
