Default DVD bonus material

I watched the DVD bonus material. It is very nice. You know, with all the bickering on the game and bugs, I overlooked the other goodies in the box that we asked for and received. Thanks UBI for extras. The DVD is a nice addition to my collection of other WW2 footage I have

I watched 2 of the films last night. I like the look of the reserved hotel on hawai (sp). shame you had to do patrols to qualify for a free weeks holiday.

Is it safe to say that if the game turns out to be a bust in the end then the free DVD was worth $50 :p.Maybe that'll make some of the less optimistic people feel better about their purchase :rotfl:.I haven't watched it yet but I have been meaning to.

Eh, it wasn't bad. I'm probably jaded, though. The documentary that Sonalysts shipped with the "Naval Combat Pack" (see the upper right of your IE window right now) was WAY better. Covered the US Silent Service from its inception to the modern day, rather than just some stock WW2 propaganda films and advertisements for other DVDs.

Of course, it was a purpose-made documentary BY Sonalysts, very professionally done, complete with interviews and introductions to each chapter by Jimmy Carter.

Still, I would be happy to recommend the "Naval Combat Pack" up there for this alone - easily worth the $20 outright, forget the 3 games it comes with.

Saying, in comparison, the Sh4 extras are worth the full $50 of the game is...a stretch. In comparison, anyway. They are certainly nice to have, and we definitely have a LOT of 'value adds' to this title. I mean, a PRINTED 100 page manual? What century IS this? I thought kids couldn't read any more??? And the map of the full pacific (even bigger than the 'Silent Service II' map, and a LOT more colors), ship recognition guide, etc...

...yeah, we definitely got the moneys worth out of the extras, here. (But the "Naval Combat Pack" DVD *is* better!)

The propaganda is great but unfortunatly you have to deal with the advertisements like with anything else that you ever get for free. I have a few ww2 training films and they are great just because of the propaganda. "Hear that german machinegun, don't hide in the dirt get up and get him, his bark is much worse than his bite!" haha classic it still makes me laugh. btw good to see another portland captain.

I would not say the game is a bust at all. I'm having a grand time with it. Bugs will be repaired with patches. Mods will do the rest. It has already begun.
