Default Kamikaze AI Aircraft Attacks

I am on a Patrol out of Midway and I am attacked by two Bettys. I watch the action while I crash dive, using the external camera.
One of the Bombers drops a load of bombs right on the other bomber. Splash one Betty.
After about 2 hours, I surface and sure enough, along come two more Bettys. This time one of them banks too hards, and, I guess, stalls the aircraft right into the drink. Splash two Bettys without firing a shot.

There was a famed anti-sub pilot - who had a reputation of never missing - who dropped a bomb on U-505, and hit it perfectly. Unfortunately for him, it landed on the deck gun, and the hard point reflected the blast straight up, destroying his plane and killing him. On the plus side, he kept his reputation for never having missed.

So I would imagine that accidents should happen, but it currently seems to happen more frequently than may be realistic. For example, I saw a number of crashed planes lying in flames on mountain sides during the Honshu patrol.

In SHIII the ship anti-collision was pretty good. Maybe they haven't perfected it in game for aircraft yet.

One of the first RAF attacks on a U-Boat ended with 2 RAF planes destroying each other with bombs.

Turns out the so called Anti-Submarine bomb bounced when it hit the water , flew up and exploded under both aircraft, thus bringing them both down.

U-Boat rescued the crews.

It would be an interesting conversation between the pilots and the sub crew!
