Default GWX 1.03 - ATI Sun Glare problem

Great mod.

I have one problem through. The Sun Glare effect no longer works correctly in SHIII with GWX installed. Instead of a glaring sun I get a bland looking yellow orb/disc.

System:
C2D 6600
ATI X1900XTX, Catalyst 7.3 beta
2 GB DDR2 800

Any ideas? Sun glare works perfectly without the GWX mod installed.

I've gotta be honest with you, I use an ATI x800 Pro with the Omega drivers (latest) and I have never had any problems with the sun.

Did you notice this with any of the previous patch releases or are you a new GWX user?

I notice you are using the beta version of the catalyst drivers, possible problem?:hmm: Try to use final releases or revert back to older versions.

Somewhere in the MODS forum you should be able to find a mod called 'Krillers Sun', I believe this was created to correct some issues regarding the size of the sun for ATI users, this might help you. Use the search function.

Not having experienced this problem myself, I can't really offer any definitive solution, maybe others can.

This is the kind of view I get with 1.03 (GWX)

Thank you for all the replies.

When I get home in a couple of hours I'll post some screenshots.

Without the GWX mod installed I get the normal sun glare. When I install the mod the glare disappears and i get a flat bland disc where the sun is. I haven't activated the extra mods (16 km mod etc.) which could perhaps explain the problem?

Nope, that won't help. I'm 90% sure that this is GFX driver related with maybe the last 10% being a corrupted file.

Screenies will help, please post them.

Have a look at this thread, it's old but might hold the answer.

Im using the cats:7.2 now and that creates a flashing black triangle on the horizon, so Im waiting for the official 7.3 hoping they will cure the problem, I cant revert back any futher than 7.1 because I'm running Vista.

Thanks mate! You are still welcome to PM med the mod if you have and it's not too much trouble. It's always good to have a fall-back plan

Using 8km GWX1.02 until current patrol is finished...

If you have a d/l link, I'll be most pleased. Or maybe you can post it to jan_kyster at yahoo.dk?

Many thanks in advance!
