**RELEASE** Multiple Roundels for Aircrafts

Hi mates,

after a long time of absence because of RL duties I release another mod today:

this mod enables two stock game aircrafts and four modded aircrafts to use different roundels of the several nations. Therefore the hard-painted roundels in all texture files had to be removed.
Furthermore there are done some little corrections as described in the 'ReadMe'.

For activation of the multi roundel ability you have to copy the roster *.cfg files of the several planes [e.g. 'LBSArado.cfg'] into the corresponding roster directory of the wanted nation [e.g. ...\data\Roster\Japan\Air].

This mod includes also GWX compatible *.dat files that will be a part of the next GWX update, AFAIK.

Many Thanks go to Sergbuto [Float Planes Mod], to Psy06 & Vaa [Hudsons Mod], to the modders of the several skin textures [Lightning, Wellington, Arado] who are unknown to me, to Jaesen Jones [had the idea to this mod and tested it], to VanHelsching [GWX compatibility & testing] and last but not least to the Ubi developers for that nearly perfect subsim. If I forgot somebody: she/he should be sure of my gratitude.

That's great. Thanks for all the effort. Just one little inaccuracy I want to point out:
American planes had the insignia only on the starboard wing on the upper side and the port wing on the lower side. So an American plane that has insignia like the one on the pic is historically inaccurate.

I'm sorry but nothing can be done about this due to the way SH3 renders these roundels.

Yes I thought so. Doesn't matter. As soon as I see an American aircraft I try not to admire the painting but to vanish beneath the waves anyway before the Yanks help me make my boat submerge faster by putting holes into it

"If you can read this it means you're too close"
can be translated as:
If you can see the roundels you're to high, dive as soon as you can

Just to clarify, this step is not necessary for GWX players UNLESS they want to add the planes to other (using) nationalities. Otherwise, all GWX players need do is enable the six dat files via JSGME.

That's the plan.

EDIT: SSB, I only just noticed the new external bomb nodes. Another great enhancement.

New Version 2.0

now an updated version 2.0 of 'Multiple Roundels for Aircrafts' is available.














For SH3 v1.4 [stock game]:

This mod enables various aircrafts to use different roundels of the several nations. Therefore the hard-painted roundels in all texture files had to be removed and marking objects in related .dat files had to be added.

The most files are placed in the appropriate folders for use with JSGME.
For activation of the multi roundel ability you have to copy the roster *.cfg files [included in 'roster cfg files.rar' archive] of the several planes manually into the corresponding roster directory of the requested nation [e.g. ...\data\Roster\Italian\Air\LBSArado.cfg].

For GWX 1.02 [will be a part of the next GWX update]

This mod enables various aircrafts to use different roundels of the several nations. Therefore the hard-painted roundels in all texture files had to be removed and marking objects in related .dat files had to be added.

All files are placed in the appropriate folders for use with JSGME

ATTENTION:

After/before enabling this mod you have to manually delete [after backup!] the following folder/files:

1) ...\data\Air\AFB_BeaufighterAU [the whole folder with all files in it]
2) ...\data\Roster\Australian\Air\FBBeaufighterAU.cfg [only this file!!!]
3) ...\data\Roster\NewZealand\Air\FBBeaufighterAU.cfg [only this file!!!]
