Anyone seen this? Whenever I resume my career, no matter where my telegraph was set when I saved, 1st thing I hear upon loading the game is "All Stop!" and yep, the telegraph is at "All Stop".
Also, resuming my last course is chancy at best. One time, after setting telegraph back to "Ahead Full" and going to 1024x speed, I found myself immediately going in clockwise circles rather than resuming course. Another time, I did resume the saved course, but when I reached the next waypoint I blasted right past it as if it wasn't there. So anyway, every time I load a saved game I have to reset my speed and click on "resume course" for it to work as it should. Just a little annoying ![]() Anybody else seen this behavior or know any way to fix it? I'm running the 1.01 patch. |

When I load a save I also get the navigator stopping the boat because he thinks he's hit the last waypoint. I have to go to nav. map, move the next waypoint a smidgen and away we go.

This happens to me as well. I just grin and bear it as I have no idea how to fix it.

Yeah, happens to me too.
Even more of an issue is when you load a game and your crew's fatigue is bottomed out.

MikeJW, I tried your tip of moving the waypoint a bit - didn't do nothin'
![]() ![]() Nefarious, don't think I've seen that crew fatigue bit yet after loading a save game. But I did see something worse, was crusing along at max time compression with telegraph at Ahead Full. Got a "Ship Sighted" warning, by the time I pounded the "-" key back to 1:1 time so I could deal with it, I was submerged at max depth, batteries almost totally flat and CO2 so high the crew was suffocating. Naturally I did not order a dive, must have been my worthless XO ![]() |

There is a WORSE factor to resuming saves.
I am in the practice of saving before I approach convoys. I don't do an incremental save, just the one from a number of miles out so I have to make another run if I get canned. And Very Hard difficulty has some pretty decent Japanese captains! Or at least, rather accurate men manning the depth charges. The problem with resuming saves is that it must reset AI somehow. I noticed on one that I had approached on the surface and traveled far on ahead before going to periscope level and stopping to wait for the convoy to come to me. But when I loaded the save... mind you, bad weather, past dusk and a good ways off... as soon as it loaded I had the nearest destroyer INSTANTLY firing on me. I had another save where this problem repeated, but where I did not get fired on. In that one I simply had them all become instantly aware of me and go into swarm mode overhead. Not fun. ![]() |
