Default Weather reports are gone, I suppose... [Resolved!]

Remember how you could ask your WO for a weather report in SH3? I suppose that's been taken out...I can't find it.

Yeah yeah, I know I'll get a barrage of "stick yer head out the hatch if you wanna know if it's rainin'!" comments, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

Are they? I always liked that feature in SH3.

It´s there, but there was no hotkey for it. Install CCIP´s Keyboard Function Mod, then you can get a weather report with Ctrl-W:

Yea, I liked it too but it looks like it's gone.

I agree with others who have stated that some of the immersion factor has been lost due to less interactivity with the crew, less verbal feedback, etc.

I always thought that was a very nice feature in SH3. However, in it's current state...I can find little reason to ever go to the command room. In SH3, it felt very intuitive to stand in the command room and issue orders to the crew...this also reinforced the feeling of being submerged.

At this point, I'm making more of an observation than a complaint. It's too early to tell what impact this will have on my long term enjoyment of the game.

dont know if its been mentioned but there are some nice touches.
ok the effects on entering crush depth are understaded, wich harms immersion.

but, i got hit and started to flood. i sank to the bottom of the ocean, hit the deck at about 1500 feet.
one thing i noticed as the lights were flashing on and off was that the crew were not wearing theyre shirts ( some of them) surprisingly i was down there for a good 6 minutes before the inevitable happened.
but seeing them working like that certainly made things look dire. so it helped with the feeling of all hope being lost.
i wonder if 1.1 had any effect on the instant death for dropping below test crush it seems to have.

[Cmd261]
Name=Report_weather
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F250006

There you have it, it's in your Commands.cfg. Use timetravellers Keychecker and you're done! Mine looks like this:

[Cmd261]
Name=Report_weather
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F250006
Key0=0x61,,"NumPad 1"

speaking of weather, I've been playing for awhile now and havn't noticed much variation in the weather like in SH3...has anybody encountered severe weather/sea states while playing?

Oh... ok... It´s pretty cloudy here in Finland, temperature is down to +6 celsius. Summer is definitely coming. Yayyy!!

I've installed it, and I can't say enough about CCIP saving my sanity by remapping my keys back to SH3 defaults. But he's saved my sanity yet again with the weather reports being there! It's true you have to use ctrl+w to get them when using this mod. Thank you for getting me up to speed on this!!!
