I can't seem to set the torpedo to High speed.
I know its a bit difficult clicking on thse controls...but I can set the detonation for either contact or contact/magnetic by clicking on the center of the knob. No way can I get the speed knob to move from low to high. My understanding is that the MK X was a two speed torpedo....is it just not modelled for two speeds in the sim? |

The Mark X torpedo only had one speed...36 knots for 3500 yards.
You may be thinking of the Mark XIV which had two speeds...46 knots for 4500 yards and 31.5 knots for 9000 yards.

That is what I thought but then I did a web search and found:
21" Mark X Dimensions: 533 mm x 7.2 m (21 inch x 23 ft 8 in) Warhead: 300 kg (661 lb) TNT Propulsion: Wet heater Performance: 47 knots for 3.0 km (3,280 yd) or 29 knots for 12 km (13,120 yd) Guess you can't believe everything you find on the intraweb. Anyway your explanation explains why I can't set to high speed is the correct one. |
