Down with EB Games!

It seems EB, or Gamespot as they now like to be called, has lost touch with the base that got them to where they are.

Two different stores I visited first gave better than average expectations of when the game would arrive, then I got answers I couldn't believe.

First Store:
Me: "Has Silent Hunter 4 arrived yet, I was told it would be here Wednesday."
EB Store 1: "I'm going to have to call another store, I've never heard of that.":hmm:

Second Store:
Me: "Has Silent Hunter 4 arrived yet, I was told it would be here yesterday."
EB Store 2: "Is that a game?"

You've got to be kidding me. It's not like a release like this happens often - you think they could track PC releases as well. NO EXCUSE!

I shall be purchasing my games from on-line giants from now on......

Most Ebgames or gamestops in my area don't even carry pc games other than the money makers like World of Warcrap. When i asked about SH4 I was told they do not get any unknown pc games unless reserved before hand so i settled for the digital download from Direct2drive. It seems the consoles have taken over the specialty gameshops.

I think we can trace the fall of Electronics Boutique to when they started calling themselves EBGames. Since then there has been a major console preference. In fact the PC section at my local one is barely a single shelf for both new releases and older ones. I used to come there for the used section for PC... now its a mess.

I get my used PS2 games there and thats it.

Mine has a decent selection and got 5 coppies of Silent Hunter on Thursday. It's all about the number of PC games they regularly shift.

Nope, not online. I spoke with Joe. I gave Joe $52.00. Joe said it should be in on Wednesday. I called Wednesday. No show. I called Thursday. Yes show. I picked up and thanked Joe. I'm playing the game. Never assume because it makes an A** out of U and ME. Joe became my best friend this week.

I love EB Games
