Default SH4 via Ubi's D2d

Ubisoft's digital store looks tempting, but I wonder if there's a downside to it--besides the huge download, of course. None of the local stores have SH4 and I'm getting impatient. So, is it worthwhile, or would I be better off putting in an order online?

Thanks.

Default Well I would wait...

There has been mention on this forum and SH3 forum previously that the DL version cannot be 'modded', so only official patches/content can be used. With SH3, I can't imagine life without GW/GWX, just my .02

False, it can be modded and quite easily. I'm using it right now with no trouble.

What are you worried about? The mod thing is a non-issue, if that's a concern. Otherwise I've had no problem with it so far.

I have to admit, im really tempted to do try this D2D thing. Only problem is, i dont have a burner, so once its on my drive, and it gets deleted or drive craps out for whatever reasons, im buying the game again.

edit:

BTW, how large is the D/L and how long did it take?

You can just download it again if your computer craps out. They shouldn't charge you again. I think you have a max limit of 5 downloads.
